Dear friends:

I am the Ecuadorian runner for the Chile's Temple whom you have
generously sponsored for many years. Now I ask you to please pray
for my prompt recovery. Since about my latest marathon in July 2011, I
had stopped running due to a nasty case of legs muscles contractions
and and a severe case of tendonitis on both my legs. To overcome
this, I have been receiving intensive physical therapy. Fortunately,
I am a slowly recovering. Soon I will be trying for 5 and 10Ks.
Hopefully this would allow me to get back in shape for the July, 2012
Guayaquil Marathon to, once again raise money for the Chile's
project. Your prayers will surely help.

Meanwhile, allow me to share a good personal piece of news: My
wonderful wife Sadygheh an Iranian pioneer to Ecuador for over 30
years and myself, thanks to Baha'u'llah, will be reaching this 26 of
January, the 31 year mark on our marathon-like marriage. We feel
immensely blessed not matter the distance we may still be able to
cover.

Dear Friends,

I ask your prayers for the progress of the soul of my friend David Stuart. I have just learned that David passed away on December 27th.

David was devoted to the Faith and was extremely active for many years in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Bahá'í community, despite the fact that he suffered from Parkinson's Disease (PD), a progressively debilitating neurological illness.

After he suffered an unwitnessed fall that indicated a possible stroke, David was required to give up driving and his own apartment and enter an assisted-living facility in a nearby community, Rio Rancho. Later, his daughters arranged to have him transferred to another state where they could monitor him more closely.

David had an avid interest in railroads, both life size and model trains. He had a wonderful sense of humor and strong spirit that buoyed him up despite his obvious physical problems.

HAIFA, Israel — Mr. Ian C. Semple, former member of the Universal House of Justice, passed away today in Switzerland. He was 82 years old.

The Universal House of Justice has sent the following message to all National Spiritual Assemblies:

Our hearts are laden with sorrow at the passing to the Abha Kingdom of our dearly loved former colleague Ian C. Semple, staunch, clear-sighted, outstanding servant of the Blessed Beauty. Having embraced the Cause of God in the prime of his youth while at university, he devoted his considerable energies, eloquent pen and keen intellect to its protection and to the promotion of its vital interests throughout the rest of his life. A distinguished record of six decades of uninterrupted labour in the Divine Vineyard included service as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the British Isles, of the Auxiliary Board for Propagation in Europe and of the International Baha’i Council, and culminated in forty-two years of membership of the Universal House of Justice from its establishment in 1963 until 2005. The shining qualities of his being, his immense courtesy, surpassing humility, purity of heart, irrepressible joy and unfailing optimism – all born of an unshakeable faith in the Word of God and its capacity to redeem humankind – endeared him to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

We extend our loving sympathy to his beloved wife, Louise, to his dear children, Michael, Nicholas and Jennifer, and to his grandchildren for the loss they have sustained and pray for the bounties of God to surround them. KERIKERI, New Zealand, 28 November 2011 (BWNS) – Russell Garcia, who has died at the age of 95, was an influential composer, arranger, and conductor, who dedicated his talents to promoting the teachings of the Baha'i Faith around the world.

In a career spanning eight decades, Mr. Garcia recorded more than 60 albums under his own name, and worked with stars such as Louis Armstrong, Charles Chaplin, Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland.

Born in Oakland, California, on 12 April 1916, Mr. Garcia began writing and arranging music while still a boy. He composed for radio programs, for television shows including "Rawhide," and films such as "The Time Machine" (1960).

A teaching post at the Westlake School of Music in Los Angeles also resulted in Mr. Garcia writing "The Professional Arranger Composer." The book and its sequel "continue to be basic handbooks for anyone who wants to understand the process of arranging and composing," the music critic Don Heckman told The Los Angeles Times.

During the Second World War, Mr. Garcia fought in the "Battle of the Bulge" in Belgium.

"This is absolute insanity, people shooting at strangers," the composer said, vowing that – if he came out of it alive – he would dedicate himself to world peace.

Mr. Garcia and his wife, Gina, joined the Baha'i Faith in 1955 and, from then on, devoted their lives to promoting its principles. In 1966, when he was at the peak of his musical career, they sold their home and possessions, bought a boat, and set sail, carrying the Baha'i teachings to the islands of the Pacific Ocean.

"Not many people have the chance to follow their hearts with no financial worries," Mr. Garcia later said.

The couple spent six years on their trimaran, "The Dawn-Breaker," anchoring in – among other places – Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica and Tahiti. During their travels, they fell in love with New Zealand and settled there permanently.

Mr. Garcia continued to compose, arrange and conduct until the end of his long life. In 2005, the Los Angeles Jazz Institute honored him for his contribution to jazz. In 2009, he and his wife were awarded the Queen's Service Medal by Queen Elizabeth II. Together, they regularly volunteered their services to teach primary school children in New Zealand about spiritual qualities through the use of songs, stories and creative exercises.

On learning of his passing on 20 November, the Universal House of Justice recalled how Mr. Garcia also "devoted himself to the creation of a range of musical compositions as a means of spreading the light of Baha'u'llah."

His "prodigious efforts in the application of artistic endeavour to the promotion of the [Baha'i Faith] will long be remembered," wrote the Universal House of Justice.

In an interview, Mr. Garcia once said. "We see mankind as one. So any goal that is not to help everybody is not a good goal."

"We've dedicated our lives to trying to build a better world," he said.

Passing of Russ Garcia

We regret to inform you that a wonderful member of our New Zealand Baha'i community, Russ Garcia, passed away on Sunday at his home in Kerikeri, at the age of 95 years.
Russ's passing occurred peacefully on the morning of Sunday 20 November, in the company of his dear wife, Gina. It appears that Russ's last words were a request for prayers.
A private funeral and interment is being held today at 3 p.m., attended mainly by members of the Far North Baha'i community.

A public memorial service will be held on Sunday 27 November, 1.30 pm, at Turner Centre, Hobson Road, Kerikeri.

A musical life that goes on and on

RIED, Austria — Composer Russell Garcia is 92 years old and still making music. Not only that, he’s touring internationally.

This week, in the town of Ried in northern Austria, in front of an audience of 200 people, he conducted a local orchestra and choir in a work that he and his wife created.

Titled “A Path to Peace,” the piece was inspired by the Baha’i writings and includes original music by Mr. Garcia and lyrics by his 77-year-old wife, Gina Mauriello Garcia. Photographs and quotations projected above the stage illustrate conditions in the world that prevent peace, as well as ideas and principles that would promote peace.

“My wife and I wrote this show because we thought there was a great need for people to understand these issues,” said Mr. Garcia, who in the 1950s and ‘60s was a composer, arranger, and conductor in Hollywood.

He worked at MGM, Universal Studios, and NBC Studios, including for the TV shows “Rawhide” and “Laredo”; composed the score for the 1960 cult classic “The Time Machine”; and arranged and conducted the album “Porgy & Bess” featuring Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong,

Mr. Garcia says he's never worked a day in his life. He says he just writes music and people pay him for it.

“He’s made music for many people like Marlon Brando, Sophia Loren and Charlie Chaplin,” said Faramarz Farid, a Baha’i in Austria who helped organize this week’s concert. “To have him here is really exciting. It is also important for people to understand the message in his show.”

“Everyone knows that peace is important, but many people don’t know how to find it,” Dr. Farid said. “As Baha’is we believe we have the solution, and that is what this show is about.... Baha’u’llah shows us how to find peace.”

Near the beginning of the half-hour piece comes a quote from Albert Einstein: “War is dual suicide, nobody wins a war.” Then come Baha’i passages taken from “The Promise of World Peace,” a 1985 message to the world written by the Universal House of Justice.

Mr. Garcia said he and his wife looked for nine major principles from the message and incorporated them in the work. Principles that promote peace include the equality of men and women, universal education, and the elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty.

“It’s very peaceful music,” said Arnold Renhardt, the director of the 17-person choir that performed at the concert. “I also think it has an important message. It shows that if people want, they can live together in peace.”

Gottfried Tischler, who teaches Catholic theology at a public school in Ried and is not a Baha’i, was asked to read some of the quotations for the performance and said he was pleased to do so.

“I think it is particularly important to offer people such events,” he said, “even if you risk having just 10 people who actually take up on this message. They will all benefit from it and then they can act as multipliers, taking the message to others.”

Mr. Tischler noted that he was impressed with the mixed audience.

“I saw people that I thought would never go to such a concert,” he said, adding that he would remember for a long time a song called "Glory in that you love all people.”

He also said he thought all the listeners would take something home from the performance, whether it be an idea or an image – “especially the one sentence at the beginning of the show: ‘Peace or annihilation – YOU have the CHOICE.’”

Mr. Tischler’s wife, Agnes, commented that the music made a deep impression on her but “the words were very important, too.”

“I think it was very important for people to take these words home with them,” she said.

Russell and Gina Garcia became Baha’is in 1955 and since then have worked to promote the teachings of Baha’u’llah. Both originally from the United States, they moved to New Zealand in 1969.

“We’ve dedicated our lives to trying to build a better world,” said Mr. Garcia “I’m still receiving so many different offers that I have to turn down work.”

She desperately needs some repairs to her heart from botched surgery a few years ago. Her local heart doctor won't perform the repairs and has referred her to the Cleveland Clinic (Ohio) to see if they can help her. Plus, she can't qualify for a needed kidney transplant unless she can get her heart repaired.

She is meeting with the doctors at the Cleveland Clinic on Thursday, October 20, for an assessment. She has been depressed, as anyone might in her situation, worrying that Cleveland Clinic won't be able to help her.

May the combined efforts of our prayers for Candy and the doctors involved bring her the healing care that she needs.

De même à Haïfa, en Terre Sainte, où tous les deux vivaient, elles étaient des amies très intimes.

Nul doute que Mme Violette NAKHJAVÁNI, qui a pris son envol vers le Royaume Céleste avec tant de bagages spirituels –– fruits de ses services rendus à la Foi de Bahá'u'lláh, de son abnégation et de ses épreuves surmontées avec contentement et humilité –– que Bahá'u'lláh a accueilli chaleureusement son âme bénie dans Son Royaume…

Dearest Friends,

Long time Pioneer to the Dominican Republic, Dale Woods, has asked for prayers to be said on his behalf. God willing, he wishes his pain and suffering here to cease and he may be allowed his flight to the Abha Kingdom.

Dale has been suffering from cancer for over 6 years when his doctors gave him less than five years to live. During this time Dale had returned to the country that holds his heart, the Dominican Republic, which he first pionerred to in the 1960s, meeting the woman who would become his wife, Estela.

After returning stateside for some treatments Dale quickly returned to this land so his final wish, to be buried in the tiny town of El Llano, Elles Pina, would be realized. These last few days he has been filled with incredible pain and he has called back to the states to say his final good-byes and ask for prayers for his release. The families ask that you join them in their supplications for his release, should God will it, and the continued progress of his soul.

She has winged her way home.
     At 11:35pm after a difficult 29 hour struggle, Mozelle was freed to soar to the Abha Kingdom. While we grieve for our loss of this beautiful and shining spirit I am comforted by the knowledge of the welcoming party of friends and family who are there to take her into their arms and the angels who will celebrate her return unto God.
   Please know her final hour was a peaceful and gentle transition. Her face was radiant and beautiful. My nature girl was comforted by bird songs on the CD, being told stories of the joy she brought others, how she was loved, and gentle prayers. I am grateful for the serene passing of my daughter.
   Thank-you God for the 19 years I was blessed to have shared with her..
   Mozelle's family would appreciate your prayers for the progress of her soul as she embarks on her next journey and for their peace with God's Will.

This following a month of serious illness and its complications. I will miss her, as I'm sure will all of you. childhood in a home where her parents were corresponding with the
Beloved Guardian since he was so attached to the development of Lyon,
an important town of France, is now ready to pass her soul to the Ahba
Kingdom. Her joyfulness, her enthusiasm and her courage were fed
during all these years by her vibrant faith in Baha'u'llah. Her
friends will miss her and we ask you for prayers so her passing away
will be now peaceful since there is no hope anymore to avoid her
earthly sufferings.

John "Jack" Thorpe of Shawnee Oklahoma, ascended to the Abha Kingdom
on February 23, and his funeral was held on Friday the 25. He was anenrolled Baha'i and former Principal Chief of the Sac and Fox Tribeof Oklahoma as well as the director of its Housing Authority. Healso was a participant and lead dancer for many Native American powwows and gatherings for many years. As an Elder, he was held in highesteem among many Native Americans.Jack was the son of Jim Thorpe, termed by many to be the greatestAmerican athlete who ever played sports. Beloved servant of the Faith, James F. Nelson, passed into the Abhá Kingdom on February 26 at approximately 8:00pm while celebrating Ayyám-i-Há with his Family. He passed quietly and painlessly, sitting in his favorite chair. Although we will miss him as a husband, father, grandfather, friend and tireless servant of his beloved Faith, we know that he is simply continuing his journey and will continue to serve his loved ones and his beloved Faith in the Concourse on High.

Funeral and Memorial Service arrangements have not yet been made, but will be announced as soon as they are known.

Remembering Eileen Norman

This sweet remembrance of Eileen is from a friend at the World Center. It’s from a time when both Eileen and I worked together on some national committees, then at the US National Bahá'í Center (which is where I got to know Eileen and her late husband Milt). And I definitely remember the St. Louis Conference, the biggest event of its kind in the American Bahá'í community to that point.

It doesn’t surprise me that Eileen was such a trooper on that night with Mr. Sears. One little-known fact about her is that she started as a child star on radio, as “Baby Eileen!” She and I also co-starred in a production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” which the Wilmette Bahá'í community offered as its contribution to American Bicentennial celebrations in 1976. She, of course, was Lucy. I played Linus. J

I just have to comment on the loss of one special lady. I was probably one of many thousands who crossed paths with Eileen and became a friend. No one had more fun than Eileen and no one knew how to “live in the moment” better than she! I especially remember one time at the St. Louis Conference. Mr. Sears was to speak that night, the place was at capacity and it began to rain buckets. Eileen was at the director’s console which was huge and controlled everything from curtain to lights, to sound – everything. Then the place where she sat, in front of the console began to leak, pouring in on her and the electrified console. Several of us found a tarp and held it over her while she controlled everything like the pro that she was, smiling and joking all the way at the predicament.

Oh she will be missed! Prayers for her blessed soul from the Holiest Place on earth!

Florence Avis was stalwart in administrative work at World Center

December 28, 2010

Florence Lorraine Avis served for 25 years at the Bahá’í World Center, after providing staunch services in support of teaching in the 1950s and 1960s from the regional to the international level.

She passed away October 9, 2010, at age 83. She was living in Hebron, Maryland.

A message of tribute from the Universal House of Justice states in part, “Her distinguished record is highlighted by close to three decades of invaluable assistance to the work in the Department of the Secretariat of the Bahá’í World Centre, where her many contributions have left a lasting imprint. Her loving spirit, sagacity, and the scrupulous attention with which she carried out the weighty responsibilities entrusted to her will long be remembered.”

A letter from the National Spiritual Assembly, mentioning “her valued labors on many committees and agencies [and] her devoted service to the Hands of the Cause of God for the Western Hemisphere,” adds: “Her wisdom, genuine love for others, and dedication to noble principles and lofty ideals, will be missed by many.”

A New Jersey native, Florence accepted the Bahá’í Faith in the 1950s in the St. Louis, Missouri, area. She spent much of her career in service to the Faith, working for the Hand of the Cause of God Zikrullah Khadem, the Area Teaching Committee for the Central States and the National Teaching Committee in Wilmette; she was also a committee member for several years.

Moving east, she served on the Pioneer Committee for the Americas and the State Teaching Committee for Maryland. She was invited to serve at the Bahá’í World Center in the late 1960s.

Over the years her travels for the Faith took her to the Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and the Philippines, as well as many places in the United States.

After her return to Maryland from the World Center in the mid-1990s, Florence did volunteer service even as she worked part time for several years. She was active with the Institute for Retired Persons at Salisbury University, was a mentor and Big Sister to youth from Wicomico County, and served on the Hebron Planning Commission.

She also taught Bahá’í children’s classes and tutored study circles. “Her energy was legendary,” says a biographical sketch that was shared at her memorial service. “At 83 she could outwork, outlast and outperform all the rest of us ordinary mortals.”

Florence Avis is survived by two daughters, Randa Wilbur of Illinois and Robin Killion of Missouri; a sister, Carolyn Sisk of Maryland; three brothers, Roger Ayers and Ronald Ayers of Maryland and Russell Ayers of Washington, DC; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Taylor.

death, but he is still "holding on". He is in some pain in his legs,
but the pain meds help that. He sleeps well and for the most part is
comfortable. Our son from Colorado, a daughter from N.Y., and a
granddaughter from Kentucky have been here and that is such a
blessing for me. I spend most of my waking time there in the nursing
home with him.

illness (or near death) condition.

He said: "When this is a condition determined by the professionals
that the patient may be approaching the next world, even though they
have not passed yet, say the prayer for the departed for them as it
assists them in the transition from this world to the next".

Now please understand I'm not suggesting you do that in this case. I
am simply passing along helpful information from a certainly
knowledgeable person, (in case you had not heard it previously), as a
note of comfort for all of us.

Theodore and his family became Baha'is in 1989 =AD the first souls to
embrace the Faith as the era of restrictions on religious freedom was coming
to an end in Bulgaria. He served for many years as a member of National
Spiritual Assembly, and was closely involved in key early milestones such as
the legal recognition and registration of the Faith and the purchase and
refurbishment of the National Baha'i Center.

Theodore translated a number of the Baha'i Writings as well as several
Baha'i-inspired works. For eleven years he was an enthusiastic organizer of

The first round of chemotherapy was ineffective so they stopped after two
treatments. The are starting a new round with a new medicine. The
chemotherapy and a weaken heart is causing him to have severe shortage of
breath. If he makes even the slightest exertion such as brushing his teeth
or putting on his socks it takes him ten to fifteen minutes to regain normal
breathing. His blood pressure is too low and of is a cause of concern.

On the up side he is still in good spirits and hopeful, as are we all.

I am suffering from a mystery neurological illness that is devastating me in mind, body and spirit. It is a loathsome affliction for which doctors have no name and I can not find the words to describe. Please pray for me and implore God on my behalf to grant an end to this indescribable suffering. At times it seems almost obscene that any creature should suffer to this degree. Surely, God does not burden a servant beyond his capacity. Whatever my sins, surely His compassion exceeds his wrath? I no longer ask for healing but merely for this intolerable pain to end. I can not bear to see my loved ones suffer as they watch my agony. An agony that they can not understand and I can not explain. Please pray that His will is done soon while I am still sane and able to resist the temptation to force the issue. Dear God. Thank you so much for your concern. I have cancer of right lung and liver; I am stage four (estadio 4)! What does that mean? For the Friends who are not in the medical field, it means that the primary tumor has invaded other sites. Needless to say, I am fighting for my life! To use a sports metaphor, it is the fourth quarter with little time left.

What treatment am I pursuing? Totally alternative! I will not submit to surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or any type of treatment that the allopathic model has to offer. That model only knows how to cut or poison it with chemicals which suppresses the immune system. Right now, I am taking digestive enzymes that assist the body in assimilation as well as the organs of elimination, i.e., liver, kidney and skin. Additionally, I will begin using the transfer factor to boost my immune system. Goes without saying my diet consist of raw vegetables, organic fruit and lots of fresh juice.

far as he has. He is now in Rehab, is walking with a rolling walker,

to go home by the end of the month. They are busy trying to find the best
place to accommodate his needs. He will need wheelchair accessibility and

Alan is currently in Cowichan Hospital, Duncan, BC, Vancouver Island, Canada. He was serving in Toronto in the summer. His sister and husband live in Zambia. Many relatives live in UK. We used to pioneer in Cameroon, PNG, Tanzania, China and Scotland.

Jack Lenz and the other members of the family wish to express their gratitude to all of the friends around the world who have been praying for Colby.

Colby underwent five hours of surgery on November 1st, a longer ordeal than anticipated, but with excellent success. The pressure in Colby's brain has been greatly relieved and while she still faces extraordinary pain and continued trials on her road to recovery from her bout with Lyme disease she is upbeat and the prognosis is promising.

Thank you everybody for your emails and good wishes. I am amazed, so
many people wrote me they would pray for my mom.

As I know, there is one of the 3 possible answers to our prayer: yes,
no, or not yet. Second, God can not be manipulated by our prayers. I
am sure, sooner or later we will understand any answer to any prayer,
that sooner or later all the uttered prayers will help, even if for
the moment there is no visible improvement or not the desired
improvement. I am sure the Blessed Beauty protects her and guides her
health care team through this difficult time.

Dearest Friends,

I received a call from Sam this morning. He is better and is profoundly
grateful for all the prayers and well wishes received from around the globe.
Sam can now sit on the side of the bed for an hour at a time. Hr has
excruciating pain in the lumbar region and in the right ankle, but is trying
to avoid pain medication as much as possible. He still cannot stand; the
edema in both legs is still a problem, with the left leg being the most
swollen. His voice was much stronger and it was a real treat to get the call
directly from him. He treasures the many messages of concern he has
received. Please continue to pray for his complete recovery.

I can't thank everyone enough for the prayers. They worked! My mom made it
through surgery without a problem and is recovering well. My dad said she
looks great and may even go home in 2 days! Wow! I know she'll still have
a big recovery ahead, but she has a great start. The healing energy sent to

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for all your prayers and concern. Sam is doing a little better. The pain is less and the infection appears to be responding to treatment. He will probably remain in the hospital for a couple of days, then go into a rehab for physical therapy to regain his mobility. Will keep you posted as additional information is available. His voice is a little stronger today, but gets weaker as he tires easily. I feel sure that with continuing prayers he will keep improving.

C’est avec émotion que nous avons appris que dans la nuit du 11 septembre 2010, le Miséricordieux a rappelé à Lui son fidèle serviteur- M. Edwin Moutou, plus connu comme « Ton Doudou ». Il était âgé de 86 ans.

Après des nombreuses années de recherche de la vérité, sa quête spirituelle l’amènera finalement à son adhésion à la Foi dans les années 60. Très actif dans la promotion des enseignements de Bahá’u’lláh il fut membre de la communauté de Port Louis pendant de longues années avant de s’installer à Rose Hill avec sa regrettée et tendre épouse.

L’Assemblée Spirituelle Nationale présente ses sincères condoléances à ses enfants, ses petits enfants et à tous ceux affligés par cette séparation.

Elle demande aussi aux amis de prier pour le progrès de son âme dans le royaume céleste.

This is to inform you of the passing of Carol Morris Worth Allen. She
passed away on 19 September in Nashville in USA and was buried on 22
September.

She became a Baha'i in 1954 in Los Angeles and served for many years as
secretary of the Los Angeles L.S.A. After a brief spell pioneering to
Pasadena and Tulsa, Oklahoma, she tried to pioneer to South Africa in
1968 but, after staying for a time in Uganda, was unable to get
permission from the Apartheid government to settle in South Africa.
Subsequently, she served for many years at the US National Baha'i Centre
and at the Baha'i World Centre. After her retirement from these posts,
she lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Nashville, Tennessee.

Dearest Friends,

We've just heard the sad news of the passing of our dearly loved
spiritual sister Gisela Cubero. Gisela was with her dear family, her
husband Dr. Tony Cubero, and their oldest son Juan, when she left
this earthly plane for the Abha Kingdom at around 5 PM on Saturday
September 25th.

The funeral service was held on Monday, September 27th, at the
Serenity Garden Center, located at 13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo.

Please note that this is the same cemetery where we recently had the
funeral service for Mr. Moghadam.

Please keep Gisela and the Cubero family in your prayers. Gisela's
husband and long-time companion is Dr. Antonio Cubero, one of the
members of the first National Spiritual Assembly of Cuba.

Gavin Welch, the son of Lorry Cornish and Roger Welch and step-son of Vala Welch who live on Lana'i in Hawaii, passed away a few hours ago from a car accident.

Roger Welch the husband of Vala Welch is in critical condition in the ICU in Houston, Texas. Several family members are on their way to Houston now.

The burial for Gavin will be in Houston. Gavin served for many years at the Baha'i World Center and was a shining lamp to everyone who knew him.

kind, left a sick, frail body to immortality surrounded by her children and
husband.

The Baha'i funeral of our dear Sarah will take place tomorrow Friday 3rd
September. She will leave Mater Dei at 2:00pm to L-Addolorata Cemetery
where she will be buried in the Baha'i community plot at 2:30. After the
Baha'i prayer for the dead is recited you are welcomed to offer prayers to God
for our most beloved wife and mother.

Her mother brought her home from the hospital on Friday. I arrived there at my daughter's place that evening after a two-day drive well driven. Leliana is smiling and laughing more often than not, and of all things, when I speak to her in French, she giggles, sighs and lets out a big laugh. We're now all brushing up on our linguistic skills. God listens. My daughter and her husband are relieved. How strong this precious noble creature of God's. Thank you again for all your prayers.

Dear Friends, Allah-u-Abha

Our daughter just called to let us know that her little three-month old Leliana, our first grandchild, is in Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. . She took a bad fall from her daddy's carrier on a walk today. The ER medical team has determined that she has a few broken ribs and some bleeding on her brain. My daughter and her husband are waiting to see her, and talk with the physician. This is the baby that almost didn't survive her birth, and was in neo-natal ICU for 12 days until she could breathe on her own. She needs prayers - so many healing prayers; and please add a few for the physicians and medical team, and for little Leliana's parents, especially her daddy who thought he had broken the fall for her. He needs to know that these things happen to even the best of anyone.
